Fishing, hunting and trapping licenses, as well as archery, primitive and duck stamps can be obtained in person from this office during regular business hours, as well as at some other Massachusetts Clerk’s Offices, many sporting goods stores, the State Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, as well as “on-line.”If obtaining a license at a location other than this office, one should check with that facility to be certain that they still issue sporting licenses or that there is staff available to do so.
When applying for a hunting or sporting license, proof of a previous year’s license, a Certificate of Competency issued by MassWildlife’s Hunter Education Program, a License to Carry or an F.I.D. Card will be required.
All persons age 15 and older are required to have a license for fishing and/or hunting. ~Licenses are discounted for residents between the ages of 65 – 69, and are free to residents over 70 years of age. Licenses can be issued to non-residents and/or aliens as well.
Licenses are valid for the entire calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) regardless of when they are purchased; and there is a 3-day fishing license available as well.
