Swimming Pools
Definition – Private Swimming Pool: Any structure that contains water over 24 inches in depth and which is used, or intended to be used, for swimming or recreational bathing in connection with an occupancy in Use Group R-3 or R-4 (One & Two family dwellings) and which is available only to the family and guests of the householder. This includes in-ground, above ground and on the ground swimming pools, hot tubs and spas.

Do I need a permit?
A permit is required when any of the following are true:
The water depth is greater than 24 inches.
The surface area of the water is 250 square feet or greater.
The pool is permanently equipped with a water re-circulating system.
