Event Date:
Saturday, October 24, 2020 - 10:00am to 1:00pm

The Holland Police Department will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) nationwide prescription drug take-back initiative, to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from homes, by hosting a collection site on Saturday, October 24th, 2020, at the Police Station, between 10AM and 1PM.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by properly disposing of unused prescription drugs.

Please be advised that the collection site will be located outside the building in the parking lot and all COVID-19 related prevention and mitigation standards, orders, and advisories, including, gathering size limits and social distancing - face covering recommendations apply. Hypodermic needles will not be accepted.
