welcome to attend and to participate in the workdays, hikes, and trail rides we will be
sponsoring in the coming year.
The Holland Trails Committee, appointed by the Selectmen, met for the first time in September of 2011. Our goal is the construction, maintenance, and promotion of recreational trails in the Town of Holland. Our first project, in cooperation with the Brimfield Trail Committee and the Army Corps of Engineers, is a multi-use trail which will connect the parking area at Lake Siog with Five Bridge Road, giving residents access to the Grand Trunk Trail in Brimfield. The trail, called Lake Siog Pass, will be suitable for bicycling, hiking, and horseback riding. The route (Cross Road to Morse Road to Old Holland Road to Five Bridge Road) has been cleared of downed trees and branches, scraped free of brambles, and widened to ten feet. With the assistance of the Highway Department, low spots have been filled and graded. Most of Cross Road has been finished. We are seeking funds through grants and donations to complete the final surfacing with gravel and stone dust.
