Tri-Towns: Wales, Brimfield and HollandFY 2018 Community Development Block Grant Application
Public Hearing Notice
The Wales Board of Selectmen will conduct a public hearing regarding its proposed FY 2018 Community Development Fund application to the Massachusetts Community Development Block Grant Program. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wales Town Hall located at 3 Hollow Road, Wales, MA. In the event of a weather cancelation, the meeting will occur the following week on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the same time and location. The proposed application outlines programs and services to benefit residents in Wales, Brimfield and Holland.
The grant application will seek funds for housing rehabilitation assistance for qualified homeowners in all three communities. Holland is also pursuing assistance to help plan for senior housing. Additional funds may also be sought to support area public social services, which may include assistance for the area Food Bank and Domestic Violence Prevention services.
The public hearing will offer residents throughout these three communities an opportunity to comment on proposed projects which were identified as priorities in each town’s Community Development Strategy. The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission will assist the Town of Wales Board of Selectmen who will be responsible for administration of the application, if awarded.
